JAMÓN IBÉRICO – THE STAR OF AN EXCLUSIVE GASTRONOMIC EVENT IN SEVILLE LED BY MARIO SANDOVAL
On 4 December, the campaign ‘Jamones Ibéricos from Spain. Ambassadors of Europe in the World’, led by ASICI and the EU, organised a spectacular gastronomic event at the Escuela Superior de Hostelería de Sevilla. Michelin-starred chef Mario Sandoval, the campaign’s global ambassador, led a unique sensory tasting of Jamón Ibérico, accompanied by leading chefs, focusing on the preparation of original culinary proposals that demonstrate the versatility of this universal gourmet product.
Eight great chefs gave free rein to their imaginations and turned their ideas into original creations, all of which highlighted the many ways in which Jamón Ibérico can be used in haute cuisine. In this sense, the purpose of this incredible initiative was to highlight the different characteristics of Jamón Ibérico, to raise its profile nationally and internationally and, above all, to showcase the excellence of a product that places our gastronomy and culture on the international stage.
Several renowned chefs, including the prestigious Raúl Resino and Marcos Nieto, were among the participants in the creation of original culinary proposals.
The event was opened by Raúl García, president of ASICI, who spoke of the importance of “giving visibility to the most emblematic products of our gastronomy, such as Jamón Ibérico, with chefs as our main allies”. “Gastronomy has become one of the great tourist attractions of Spain, Andalusia, and Seville.”
The goal of this type of event is to continue the successful series of experience and training days held in cities such as Lyon, Munich, and Mexico City.
A unique opportunity to discover the wonders of this exclusive product!
