ANIMAL WELFARE (IBAW) AND FOOD SAFETY

The ‘Farm to Fork’ strategy, included in the European Green Deal, aims to reinforce a series of guidelines on food safety, animal welfare, traceability and environmental sustainability that were already included in the European Model of Production, the most demanding in the world and of which the Ibérico sector is one of its supporters.

IBERIAN ANIMAL WELFARE (IBAW)

There’s no other place in the world where animals have more space, better hygiene conditions, and comfort. This well-being is also seen in the production, guaranteeing maximum quality products.

In order to keep the agreement, the sector introduced the IBERIAN ANIMAL WELFARE SEAL. A certification that will enable consumers to easily identify products that have been approved for manufacturing under regulated conditions.

It guarantees animal welfare in a more demanding way than the requirements approved by the European and national regulations.
